Picture this. Your best friend is getting married, and five different people want to host their bridal shower. You would do it, but you don’t want to overwhelm them so you tell them it’s fine if they let someone else host it. But as it gets closer to the date, each of the people who said they wanted to host find reasons why they can’t, leaving you with a best friend and a powerful need to find some supplies for a bridal shower on short notice.
But therein lies the problem. In a situation like this (and yes, it could happen and in fact happens all the time), it can be easy to get stressed out and overwhelmed. You don’t have enough time to plan for a bridal shower, which means you can’t even begin finding the supplies. And you’re going to need the supplies quickly, too. Is there anything you can do?
Calm Down And Think Simple
First, don’t panic. It’s unfortunate, but you’ll have to accept that there’s only so much you’ll be able to do. If your friend is reasonable, they’ll understand that there’s only so much you can do. You simply do not have the time to plan an extravagant gala.
Given that, what are some simple things that can be done? Are there simple games that can be played? Can you get a case of beer instead of finding some bottles of high quality wine? Do you have easy access to some event space? Or can you host it at your home easily enough?
Once you start figuring out what simple things you can do, figuring out what supplies you need becomes that much easier. You can’t find your supplies until you know what you need, after all!
Getting The Best Supplies
Obviously you don’t have time to do full research on each and every thing you buy, so how are you going to make certain you’re getting the best deal on supplies for a bridal shower?
Look for local shops and coupons! Do a quick Google search of shops in your area, and see if any of them are running specials on things you need. That way, even if something does go wrong you can always take it back.
Ultimately, hosting a bridal shower is somewhat stressful. It’s especially stressful if it’s been thrust upon you unexpectedly. But if you keep calm and think simple, you’ll be fine.
